  1. What is Airflow Analyst? Our daily life is affected by airflow (wind) within our environment in many aspects. The wind has close relations with the urban environment, renewable energy, disaster prevention and risk of chemical diffusion. Wind simulation technology, which can visualize complex and invisible wind flow gives us various business solutions. Airflow Analyst® can simulate the complex wind flow on GIS (Geographic Information System) environment based using existing geospatial database. User can understand the wind flow around complex terrain and buildings by specifying the extent and calculation settings on your map. There is nothing to worry about not to have any scientific knowledge in the fluid dynamics field. You can get amazingly-dynamic and highly-accurate wind behavior with intuitive operation and general PC. The wind simulation has become a “Tool” for not only fluid dynamics specialist, but also planner who want to optimize design and plan harmonized wind environment. LES (Large Eddy Simulation) model which is developed and tested by Kyusyu University over several decades is adopted into Airflow Analyst as a fundamental algorithm for fluid dynamics computation. And Airflow Analyst is a third party extension software running under ArcGIS for Desktop which is released by ESRI. http://www.airflowanalyst.com/en/index.php
