    Instead Identify tool use HTML tool and you will see long string field (text). Of course the long text must be within Feature class table (layer in ArcMap). Regards.

    Yes! Only define query for feature(s) which you prefer to show. If you using ArcGIS; - Open shapefile then right click on the layer; - From drop down menu choose Properties and on opened panel go to the tab Definition Query; - Define query using SQL language or click on button Query Builder and use some criteria to select feature that you want. It is all. After that you will see only selected feature(s).
