Extract bamboo signature using Worldview 3 8 bands imagery
pasfans01 replied to kimsrun's topic in Remote Sensing
I think it is possible using WV3 What kind of analysis you going to perform ? single time or multitemporal. Multitemporal analysis going to needs more imagery rather than single imagery. If you only have single imagery covering certain region, what you must first do is develop or looking for spectral signature of bamboo tree, after that you can perform smooth classification like linear spectral unmixing, or hard classification like maximum likelihood to extract the bamboo forest based on those spectral signature. machine learning segmentation can also be used, some software has implemented machine learning classification which is very advanced and has been used widely. If you have multitemporal imagery, it will be better, because now you are enabled to monitor vegetation dynamics over the observation period. You know at certain season, vegetation will drop it leaf and regrowth it at the spring or summer. And every vegetation type behave differently to weather and climate, that information can be used to separate one type of vegetation to another one, include bamboo. good luck- 1 reply

1. For the shadow, it will make the NDVI values close to zero, whatever the landcover covered by it 2. for level 1C data, the digital number/reflectance is processed to top of atmosphere value, which means atmospheric effect is not yet corrected, and for level 2A, the digital number/reflectance has been corrected to surface/bottom of atmosphere reflectance (atmospheric effects has been corrected). Theoretically , the level 2A data will give more accurate NDVI values compared to level 1C,

yes, If you are using 10.5.1 I assume you have original license from ESRI, I suggest you to try ArcGIS pro, if you have access to arcgis online organizational license, it is more stable, and if you make a model using model builder, it has new tool called cost path as polyline, so your workflow will be simplified,
-
what arcgis version you are using? I currently working on my thesis about LCP too, and for ArcGIS 10.6, the cost distance tool sometimes giving up random error failed to process, now I moved to arcgis pro which is more stable,
-
just bought it, I dont know but It load faster than the fixed version, dont know if it is because no usage of license manager or may be other factors
-
a lot of landuse / landcover mapping problems will be resolved if we are using visual interpretation. because combination of eye and brain just superb, and no tool can replace it yet
-
currently using firefox quantum, pretty nice, tabs are responsive, kind of fast, and so far doesnt consume a large amount of memory like chrome does

version 2.18.14 dont be lazy, google is your friend, pal.

as far I know, webapp builder also uses map services from arcgis server, the differences is, it is hosted on the arcgis server as the portal map services, so in order to use map services from arcgis server, may be you can look into the web app builder code files, and search the code that refer to the map services, and change it to your preferred map services but this is just my thought because I never analyze the website structures of webapp builder, so I am not sure myself if this way guarantee success or not. I dont know thoroughly about the map services behaviour in the webapp builder, not as deep as arcgis flexviewer

Sooner or Later ArcMap will be Replaced with ArcGIS Pro

I have been suscessfully familiarize my self to ArcGIS Pro and its madness, BRING IT ON -
yes, FE should develop their own theories about coordinate system used in FE, as far as the Map they always to brag is just a conic projection of earth centered in north pole, like what we found at UN logo, but I guess they wont bother,
-
I guess the 8day term is not refer to the temporal resolution of landsat, but it is more to 8 acquisition of images covering same path/row composited together
-
else, you can ask your workplace to procure some, that is what we always do, xixixixixi
-
no, you cant do that from google earth. yes, if the study area doesnt matter, you can look up for so many of sample imagery provided by well known satellite vendor like digitalglobe, airbus, planet labs, and many others
-
first thing first, check your aerial images, does it recorded on panchromatic mode or multispectral mode, ? and if it is in multispectral mode, did it record at near infrared spectrum? the indication that the image has near infrared spectrum is it has fourth band which if you displayed it, it will turn green vegetation into red you cant make NDVI if you didnt have infrared filter or infrared band in your image.

onlen lahhhhh, http://gis.dukcapil.kemendagri.go.id:6080/arcgis/rest/services/Data_baru_18072017/MapServer wkwkwkwkwk

yeah, WFS version is crucial to ArcGIS because not all WFS protocols or versions from OGC has been supported at this moment

personally I dont want to get limited by those theoretical stuffs, after all remote sensing is all about discovery,

How import Sentinel-2A bands in Erdas Imagine
pasfans01 replied to imtest133's topic in Remote Sensing
If you want to do it the conversion to GEOTIFF/IMG format in quick and easy way, the IMPACT Toolbox may be could help you, It is also possible that the toolbox could preserve some important imagery metadata stored in the XML file of original data (which is only can be accessed thoroughly using SNAP) in the conversion process. Here is the link http://forobs.jrc.ec.europa.eu/products/software/ -
@Art409 yes, I also know about the pushbroom/frame geometry differences, But What I am talking about is just workaround or trial and error wise pushbroom scanners sure need certain tools which might be different from the frame camera dedicated tools, but why not trying it, I can get a DEM from Landsat-8 between Row side overlap which is reaching 10 percent of total swath width of landsat-8, but yes, it does needs additional processing which tedious and irritating
-
as far i know, there are only map to webgis plugins in QGIS,
-
yes it is possible, as long as There is a proper overlap (approximately 80% frontal overlap and 60% side overlap). It is possible to describe the camera in terms of position (latitude/longitude/altitude) and parameters (sensor size, pixel resolution, focal length). The position mentioned in this prequisities cant be interpreted as georeference information, but the sensor position, which is usually stored in the imagery metadata
