Here is another link for tropospheric NO2 satellite data with full world data access in different format... My mates prefer using this version rather than Giovani, I don't really know why... http://www.temis.nl/airpollution/no2.html

I think the best name should be thematic maps and not statistical maps ....

There are many papers which cover such topic... however here is some that may be helpful for you... http://www.knmi.nl/omi/research/documents/ http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19843549 http://www.atmos-chem-phys.net/10/8839/2010/acp-10-8839-2010.pdf http://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=22&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDQQFjABOBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.acd.ucar.edu%2FEvents%2FMeetings%2FAir_Quality_Remote_Sensing%2FPresentations%2F1.3.Goldberg.pdf&ei=6eUpU8v0IIWq4ASxsYGoAg&usg=AFQjCNE3ZunRy_3wr1Bp8iamJQU4wVmfNA&sig2=yDA2Mz0ieF6O7NBsLBiqZQ&bvm=bv.62922401,d.bGE Have fun

I think you should have a look on OMI satellite and its abilities to estimate some gases, aerosols and air quality... http://ozoneaq.gsfc.nasa.gov/ You can as well access the data from here: http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/Aura/data-holdings/OMI Have fun

I answered this question in a facebook group few days ago... Here is the answer: (1) normally image registration in remote sensing refers to image matching when creating mosaic, (2) image co-register is the process of registering image bands together accurately to avoid what is known as "ghost boundary" which may be the result of band offset, (3) finally orthrectification is the process of terrain correction (relief displacement) in an image, and this requires accurate DEM and several ground control points (GCP) between the image and DEM to create the orthorectified image.

Plz let me know if it helped you...

Well, I am not such professional in eCognition but it sounds to me that you need a complex spatial model with conditional statements to detect vulnerable areas based on the data layers I mentioned before... If you can measure the safety index, this will be enough to be classified in any software as well as eCognition and define vulnerable sites...

Geological formation (vertical column) Surfacial deposits Structure (rock tension i.e. joints, faults, fractures..etc) Slopes Historical records to estimate probability of occurrence If it is possible you have to measure what is known as safety index.... if you could determine it, it would be enough because it includes all the above factors Have fun

I am not really sure if they are serious... from my own experience the ESA is very stingy.... However let's see..!!

I have imported the file with the aid of NASA Desk help.... It needs much information that is indirectly included in the scene itself and should be firstly extracted using header reader. Thanx

Dear friends I have got an image from NASA it is from SIR-C Multi Look in ceos format. I could not import the image into ENVI software owing to the missing of WNASPI32.dll file. Has anyone idea to open this file? I should mention that I tried Ermapper, Erdas and even using Evopen tool from NASA itself , but they all couldn't import or read the file properly. Waiting for your help, Thanx

ASTER - free satellite images for download
moawad74 replied to Arhanghelul's topic in Remote Sensing
OK there is an solution even if it is hard. you have to register by NASA through Glovis and submit a project draft. If it is accepted you will get a free account for some products of aster images. It lasts mostly one to two months. -
it depends on the percentage of cloud cover in the image. if it is just haze then u may use ACTOR module in Erdas Imagine. there are several models actually to correct the influence of atmospher such as subtraction of dark pixel. But if the image is completly affected by cloud then such modules don't pay.

just overseen the header or metadata file..... otherwise u have to contact ur supplyer
