juliusmall
From somewhere, from internet: Tom Probert MapInfo Professional Global Product ManagerI'm happy to report that a good portion of what you are asking for is on the way in MapInfo Professional v12.5. This is going to be a transformational release. The key pillars are (1) a full 64 bit version will be available. (2) An all new Layout Designer (similar to the Legend Designer) complete with an "active" Layout window. This means you can manipulate the map directly within the layout and do not have to go back and forth between the map and the layout. (3) Use of multiple cores and multiple threads for object processing operations and (4) the 64 bit version will have an all new ribbon based user interface. The 32 bit release will not have the ribbon user interface but will have the new Layout and multiple core support. If you can make it to one of our MapInfo Tour events, we have very early builds of the 64 bit release that we are showing. To be clear these are not beta (not even alpha releases)We will be putting the new release on display at MapInfo User Conference in Memphis. juliusmall
I think W32 is a dead end...Only 3.something gb memory used by the system, So, only an office Pc or something. The most interesting for me is the multi core capacity Edited May 10, 2014 by juliusmall
