badar Posted April 7, 2012 Report Share Posted April 7, 2012 If you have spectrometer of some kind then i believe this would be very helpful. You can draw Spectral reflectance (measured from your device) against wavelengths and make a library of spectral signatures of each of the vegetation type and species. Though Spectral signature of a particular sub-class of vegetation drawn from field measurement will not match exactly to the same class as classified from the image yet that'll be helpful I believe to differentiate b/w different types of vegetation.
