oz1
I would like to monitor forest dieback over time using remote sensing. It's happening in scattered small areas & is very patchy so Landsat TM does not have enough resolution. Could anyone help by suggesting which satellite to use (Worldview?) and what is the best vegetation index or data transform please?
Administrators EmperoR Posted February 15, 2012 Administrators Report Share Posted February 15, 2012 hem, actually depend on the resolution you need, generally you need image that can differentiate forest, so anykind of image with infra red band will do the job, vegetation index , please see here : [hide] http://geol.hu/data/online_help/Vegetation_Indices.html [/hide]
oz1
Thanks for the veg index info Emperor. Looking at the size of trees suggests a resolution of 1-2 m is needed.
