PROBERT
Earlier today, I clipped an aoi shapefile from a dem file in ArcGIS 9.3.1, so I can use to perform them in ERDAS. The file output in ERDAS came out in white ? The file has a 32 bit file and has about 2.18 GB. Was it because ERDAS 9.1 could not read the clipped file that came from ArcGIS ? Do I need to re-do the clip again in ERDAS ? What might go wrong here ? Thanks.
Lurker
hem, you need to convert from 32bit into 8bit regards,
rahmansunbeam
GIS softwares has some peculiar characteristics. so i recommend converting images to geotiff/tiff whenever you switch software. geotiff is a good format supported by almost every GIS software, so whenever you face a problem like this you'll at east understand there is nothing wrong with the file. now the AG, a very very problematic software. i don't understand how this kind of user-unfriendly software holds 80 percent of the geospatial industry. never mind! try importing and converting the shp to aoi file in erdas and clip again. PROBERT
Problem solved. I figured it out. I did not enabled to include the No data. So if you did not, it will come out as white, so enabled it and it will come out fine.
