corverse
I successfully installed ArcGIS Server 10 .NET on Windows XP SP3..i configured everything that needs to configure. I created a map service which web access is enabled. When i try to use the service in ArcGIS Explorer Online, it says map service is unreachable and i also i found out that the map service is accessible in local intranet only. When i checked the url of the service is "http://gis-wk1/arcgis/rest/services/settlement/MapServer", this is the only url i've got..The esri help stated that i must use the format "http://server.esri.com/arcgis....../MapServer"... My problem is how can i obtain the exact url? sample "http://servername.esri.com/arcgis......./Mapserver"
neotoxin
you have to make your webserver accessible to internet i.e. have public i.p and a proper domain name that point to that ip
arsehole
i`ve installed arcgis server 9.3 on nearly same config. so normally you just need a proper port and IP. Do you use the IIS or apache as sevrer??? are you behind some kind of firewall? my server was running on something like this: http://machine.gu-berlin.de:1234/servicename

pasfans01
you should ask your network administrator to gives open port to your server, via NAT or DMZ setting from router, so your server can go online, the point is, server should have public IP, so webserver can be accessed from outside
