Extract forest information from a LiDAR photo
By YackoBR,
Hi, I'm starting to work with LiDAR technology for a study about forest structure and I'm having problems with the first steps for extrancting the information that I need.
I'm using FUSION software with a photo as example, and I have been able to get information about individual trees or a line of them, but I'd like to get more information. I mean, for example, a table with all the values of all the points (and their coordenates) located in that photo, and if it were possible, values for the
Connecting to ESRI map server or another one
By Lost_in_Space,
I hope this is the right place for my question.
I've installed ArcGIS 10.1 with medicine. Can anyone tell me how to connect to a map service (like google) which I intend to use for base map layers? Everytime I try to connect ArcGIS I recieved this error "Unable to connect to the remote server". I also tried ArcBruTile plug-in and it's the same.

Desertification In Tunisia
By stephenhann,
Hi,
I have a project to map 'Current' Desertification in Tunisia. I need to produce a 1:800,000 map.
My Initial Idea is to measure desertification through an NDVI to classify desertification using LandSat 8 images as a data source.
Questions:
Is LandSat 8's spatial resolution suitable to map a 1:800,000 scale map?
Should I use one year of images i.e monthly 2014 images or a longer time frame such as 10 years of monthly images or be even more specific i.e daily? to get a mean NDVI score, or
Errors in PCI Geomatica 2014 ATCOR
By mokukk,
I'm doing atmospheric corrections on RapidEye images in PCI Geomatica 2014 ATCOR. In the final results there are salt-and-pepper type errors in RE band 4 and 5. These errors only occurs when haze removal is do as part of ATCOR. However, I would really need to do the haze removal as part of the process, so does anybody have any solutions or ideas about this issue?
