Atmospheric Correction for Smoke
By ben-jamin,
Hi all,
I am a research intern researching atmospheric correction for smoke, because a lot of the data AVIRIS has given me has smoke in them from wildfires in CA. My study has been using FLAASH and I am trying to see if I can find a set of parameters that best correct for smoke, and I am wondering if anyone here has any good suggestions for settings I should try. Also I have been noticing that overall FLAASH has been doing a really poor job at correcting for smoke in general, does anyone hav
Temperature Downscaling in ArcMap
By WeatherEric,
I am attempting to downscale a plethora of temperatures points over a high resolution DEM, and have hit several roadblocks. On further research, I have found a method in which to execute this task, but am stuck on how to execute within ArcMap.
The weighted linear function I plan to use is as follows `y=Bx+C`
Where y=predicted temperature, B and C are coefficients, and x is the DEM layer.
There are also several complex weighted functions that determine the influence of the station on t
Google provide raw GNSS measurements
By Lurker,
Raw GNSS measurements from Android phones. Yep, they are coming. At Google we have been working with our GNSS partners to give application developers access to raw GNSS measurements from a phone.
This is really exciting, and marks a new era for our GNSS community. At Google I/O in May, we announced that raw GNSS measurements are available to apps in the Android N operating system, which will be released later this year. This means you can get pseudoranges, Dopplers and carrier phase from a phon
Using TravelTime Search API to Generate Isochrone
By Lurker,
When searching and analysing location data, the miles radius circle is seen a lot, yet we don’t often travel in a straight line. Mapping suitable locations by time lets you understand where’s really in reach within an area. Travel time mapping and searching is for people that ask ‘where’s a suitable location within 10 minutes?’ rather than ‘where’s within 3 miles radius?’
The goal: create a map that shows all possible locations that are within 30 minutes of Oxford Street, London using public tr
SLIP-DRIP New Software For Automatic Detection Of Landslide
By Lurker,
Kirschbaum oversees a team of researchers designing an automated system to identify potential landslides that might otherwise go undetected and unreported. The computer program scans satellite imagery for signs that a landslide may have occurred recently.
The Sudden Landslide Identification Product (SLIP) combs through Earth imagery and analyzes consecutive images of the same location to spot changes in soil moisture, muddiness, and other surface features. The program also compares the hill
